Ellie misses Bear

My Momma recently went through the pictures from the last few months of Bear's life. She was surprised to note that he and I were always nearby each other.

Seeing how close we were made her cry. She now understands why I was so lost when he left. I didn't want a friend ... I wanted my brofur, Bear. Latte will never measure up.

You might wonder what Bear and I talked about with all the time we spent together. He had a lot to teach me in a short amount of time! He passed along the responsibility for taking care of Momma to me. He wanted to be sure she would be okay. Taking care of Momma requires a ton of work and know-how! I wasn't so sure about being promoted, but Bear believed in me. I hope I make him proud.

I love you, Bear. And I miss you.    ~Ellie Mae Kat

ps - You were right about Daddy. He has boyties!
pps - I'm taking good care of your catnip banana.
ppps - I have a boyfriend!!! He's as smart as I am!

Do you remember Bear Appreciation Day from Bear has a date!? We updated the graphic and celebrated yesterday, June 5th. How did you celebrate Bear Appreciation Day?

We celebrated Bear Appreciation Day by gathering a clowder of torties in a tank, each wearing a tiara, and we let them blast a flock of tasty whole chickens. Like most of Bear's exploits, it was even messier [and crazier] than it sounds [don't try this at home, trust us!]. Taking a lesson from Bear, we won't apologize!

A throwback in memory of the one-and-only Bear Cat Kat (aka Princess Buttercup Black Bear Cat of the Forest, the Quack Daddy, and B-Cube):

  1. I think it is to be expected that sentient beings miss each other, especially given them being the two cats of the house. People tend to think they dont care, which is far from the truth.
On the 5th we celebrated happy Monday napping day. No tanks needed, though given the new neighbour cats a big one might have helped. I'm sure Bear would have had a few words to add, too! 😉

    1. He most certainly did. Whenever Bear and I were cuddling and Ellie called for him, he'd go running. It kind of irritated me at the time ... but now I'm happy that he was there for her too.

  15. Bear would have loved Ellie's ppps and would not have stopped laughing or ribbing her about it. Ellie, Giulietta never stopped missing her sisfur, Fiona. Some bonds are just too strong. And we know your mom will never stop missing or loving him.
