Why do Bear and I like blog hops and linky parties?
- We've met so many incredible new friends we'd never find otherwise. For the majority of blogs Bear and I visit on a regular basis, probably eighty percent of them or more we found through participating in blog hops.
- With the variety of blogs that participate, there's so much to learn for those of us who can never know enough. Not to mention that there are a lot of touching, fascinating, or otherwise unique stories to be told outside of one's "niche."
- They are great ways to build relationships within the blogging community. When Momma recently went through a tough time emotionally, our blogging friends were our best supports. So building relationships with other bloggers isn't just about increasing readership, but also connecting in meaningful ways that can often be lost behind a computer screen.
If you join our Party, please link to a specific post from your blog instead of to your blog's homepage. Since each co-host chooses three posts from the last Party to feature each week - you increase your chances of being chosen by giving us a specific post and not the more general homepage.
In keeping with the tradition of this particular linky party, my three favorite link ups from the last Showcase follow. A note on the last Showcase ... Bear and I were ecstatic at how many link ups we had last time!!! Especially with the great showing of felines! THANK YOU to everyone/everycat/everydog who linked up ... the Showcase is made better by each and every friend who joins.

*** The Catburry Bunny Auditions (Part 1) - 15 and Meowing ***
Of the multitude of kitties at 15 and Meowing, which one looks the best with bunny ears? We LOVE the pictures of the “catburry bunnies.” The looks on the faces of all the “bunnies” are priceless and very cat-like … something to the order of, “what stupid idea did the human come up with THIS TIME!” Part two can be found here: The Catburry Bunny Auditions-Part 2. Can you tell which kitty didn't participate? Which one posed twice? And which hoppy feline do you think won?
Purrseidon is one of the most beautiful felines you will ever meet. In this post, we also meet her new bunny brother, Professor Gunner Hamilton. We couldn't help but snicker at Purr's observation that The Professor is, “the most cuddly brofur I have ever had.” Was that a veiled insult of Mr. M. (Purr's older, and somewhat grumpy, feline brofur)? This hasn't been a good year for Mr M.; first he deals with a troublesome younger sisfer with a penchant for his silvervine stick, then he met an over-amourous cock-a-poo during Hurricane Matthew, and now BUNNIES!!!
Few things bring pet parents as much joy as watching their furbabies enjoy something the parents gave them. This post describes an adventure the Wag 'n Woof crew had in home cooking. I love the looks of excitement on Luke and Cricket's faces. And don't worry ... Samantha wasn't left out!
Wait! Wait! One ... no TWO more!!! We're counting this as a chosen ORGANIZATION ... though the blogs themselves are amazing and WELL WORTH your visit. For as long as I cohost, I will praise and raise awareness for PAWS, an incredible rescue in Norwalk, Connecticut that I've come to admire and wholeheartedly support. We LOVE these two blogs because of their upbeat attitude and because they do a phenomenal job of sharing this particular rescue - and the cats available for adoption there. PAWS offers a lot of great programs including a "pension plan" for senior pets up for adoption. We encourage our readers to visit these two blogs, check out the amazing animals up for adoption on PAWS' website, and support rescue efforts at PAWS and locally.

DeleteRight now there is a Nellie sized hole in my heart. Someone very special has gone forever from this world and I feel an immense pain, however with your words, you have made my heart rejoice. I am grateful to you for your special message which has helped me find some peace and tranquility.
ReplyDeleteThank You
Barb (Nellie's Mommy)
We're sending you all our love and we hope your heart finds peace.
DeleteOohhh... WHAT FUN! This is just the kind of linky I like. The kind where you don't have to put a button on your blog and stuff like that. As you know, Peep #1 is my IT Support and her IT Supportin' skills are like... Zero. On a good day. MOUSES!
ReplyDeleteSO WHERE DO I SIGN UP?
Okay, so no signin' up is required.
But I do have two questions. I just wanna verify the date of the next party. Is it Saturday May 6th? And if I don't post on Saturdays but do post on Sundays, should I wait 'til Sunday to link up or use a previous post on the Saturday? PURRS.
Yes, Sivvy - the next Showcase is May 6th. You can either link up when you publish your post on Sunday (15andMeowing and Purrseidon do this) OR you can link up an old post (Erin does this). The post I link up is usually a post that needs a little extra help. Some of the hosts use older posts as well - that's the best part in that it's so flexible ... the post you link up doesn't even need to mention the linky or have a theme.
DeleteThis sounds like so much fun! Maybe we can convince Mommy to blog on Caturdays.
ReplyDeleteThe best part is that you can link up old posts ... so you don't need a new one!
