Sunday Selfie #22 {Bear Kitten/Kitty - the couch}

I know I'm handsome. So joining The Cat on My Head's Sunday Selfies blog hop is a no brainer! This week, I'm sharing pictures of Kitty and I when I was a kitten (ten years ago). Momma raided my kitten pictures and we have enough for a couple weeks. As she says, "What's better than pictures of Bear Cat? Pictures of BEAR KITTEN!!!" After viewing my pictures, you're MORE than welcome to express your appreciation of this fine feline specimen with tasty whole chickens ... my Momma will give you the address (just tell her you're sending me socks!). ~Bear Cat

pps - As Momma announced in Thank you to our incredible friends, we are back to blogging ... maybe not every day yet ... but we are back! I've still got my work cut out for me because Momma's still a bit of a wreck ... but I'm working on it!

For those of you who don't know ... I was homeless and about eight months old when Momma and I met ... so please excuse the lack of tiny kitten pictures. Kitty and I weren't exactly best buds ... I don't understand why?!?!

Bear Cat: "Do de do ... piggy is my favorite toy, and I like this couch ... SO much better than the horrors of living outside! I have food and toys, it's warm, AND I even have my own water bowl!"

Kitty: "For real?!?! You have to choose MY sleeping spot on MY couch to play?! You have a WHOLE HOUSE to play around!"
Bear Cat: "I think it's time to introduce myself! HIIIIIIIIIII! I'm Bear! What's your name?"
Kitty: "LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Bear Cat: "Wow. I thought Momma named ME something strange! Who would've guessed a cat would be named Bear? But to be named LEAVE ME ALONE?!?! Sheesh!"
Kitty: {to Momma} "You just had to get a stupid one, didn't you?"
Bear Cat: "We're going to be best friends!"
Kitty: "Not likely."
Bear Cat: "None of the cats outside liked me! But I don't understand! I just like to be friendly!"
Kitty: "You say 'friendly' ... I say ANNOYING!"
Bear Cat: "Thank you!"
Kitty: "WHAT THE ... go be friendly OVER THERE!"
Bear Cat: "But, you're over HERE, LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Kitty: "EXACTLY!"

Bear Cat: "What's under your pillow, LEAVE ME ALONE? Is that where your favorite toys are?"
Kitty: "MOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!"
Bear Cat: "Oops. I slipped!"
Kitty: "HEY! I'm under here you know! You just have to mess around, you clumsy moron!"
Bear Cat: "Oh, no. My name's not Clumsy Moron! My name is Bear! It's nice to meet you!"

Bear Cat: "WHAT?!?! Was it something I said?!?! I'm cute, right, Momma? Maybe LEAVE ME ALONE is just intimidated by my handsomeness!"

  1. I guess someone will take a while to warm to you eh little guy? Hang in there, sometimes a sisfur or brofur takes a while to become a friend.

    Let's hope.

    *hugs*

    1. We never did get along ... the best we could do was a fragile peace. I know Momma misses Kitty something fierce, but I like being an only child! ~Bear Cat

  2. Hehe, I know making new friends can be daunting, but looks like it was real hard work for you, both! purrs ERin PS. What you need is a circular sofa with either no cushions and arms, or a single cushion and arm that goes all the way round. ?

  5. We enjoyed seeing the wee small Bear! I was 9 months old when I was adopted so we don't have any kitten pics of me either!

  6. You were a cute little Bear Kitten. Those were very powerful lasers that Kitty aimed at you.
We were 5 1/2 weeks when we came to our home. It was to keep Kitty Yumbum company when the last of her brofurs died. She hated us at first and would escape up onto the bed. Eric soon managed to scrabble up there and would follow her everywhere. She soon got to love us and wouldn't let us out of her sight.

    1. Kitty and I never became friends ... not from lack of me trying! I do have to admit though that I was quite annoying ... I'm not sure how I would handle a little pipsqueak like I was :) ~Bear Cat

  8. Bear, these are some fun pics. But Kitty obviously did not agree. ;)

We've adopted all of our cats as older adults, so we don't have kitten photos, eother. We love it when there are kittens at the shelter with similar markings/faces, because we can imagine that's what our cats looked like when they were little.

Hugs to you and Momma Kat!

    1. It's hard to believe that when Momma brought me inside, I only weighed 4 pounds (at ~8 mths old) ... now I weigh 14! Then again, I was cold and hungry ... life on the streets sucks! Maybe one day every cat will have a loving home like I do! ~Bear Cat

    1. Me too. Much like you and Athena, we saved each other. Many people express surprise when Momma tells them that (how can a cat save you? he was homeless and you gave him a home!!!) ... but it's true. We're good for each other :) ~Bear Cat

    1. Momma was really worried about how I'd adjust to being indoor only, but it was seamless. Seeing me today, you'd never know I knew any different. I only go outside now just to prove I can ... but I get scared if Momma gets out of my sight. ~Bear Cat
