Pet Blogger Showcase 10/15/2016

As Bear and I announced a couple weeks ago, twice a month, we co-host a Pet Blogger Linky Party along with the established co-hosts PetFaves, Heart Like A Dog, and Felines OpinesIf you missed the last Pet Blogger Showcase, you can view it here: Pet Blogger Showcase 10/01/2016; it was our first week as a co-host. We were very excited to see many of our favorite feline friends - who were previously unaware of the Party - join in last time.

Why do Bear and I like blog hops and linky parties?
  • We've met so many incredible new friends we'd never find otherwiseFor the majority of blogs Bear and I visit on a regular basis, probably eighty percent of them or more we found through participating in blog hops.
  • With the variety of blogs that participate, there's so much to learn for those of us who can never know enough. Not to mention that there are a lot of touching, fascinating, or otherwise unique stories to be told outside of one's "niche."
  • They are great ways to build relationships within the blogging community. When Momma recently went through a tough time emotionally, our blogging friends were our best supports. So building relationships with other bloggers isn't just about increasing readership, but also connecting in meaningful ways that can often be lost behind a computer screen.
If you join our Party, please link to a specific post from your blog instead of to your blog's homepage. Since each co-host chooses three posts from the last Party to feature each week - you increase your chances of being chosen by giving us a specific post and not the more general homepage. In keeping with the tradition of this particular linky party, my three favorite link ups from the last Showcase follow.

Service Cats: Discipline: Stop Countersurfing Kitty - Deziz World

Every Monday, Dezi and Raena Belle post about being Service Cats. While not recognized as "Service Animals" under the
Americans with Disabilities Act, cats can still be individually trained to work and perform tasks as Service Cats based on a person's disability. This particular post is one of my favorites because it goes beyond service cats to tips to train ANY cat. I love that Mom Audra doesn't believe that punishment is an effective training technique. Instead, her techniques mimic the methods a mother cat uses to teach her kittens boundaries and standards of appropriate behavior. As many cats are surrendered to shelters for behavioral reasons, learning the proper way to train a cat can prevent at least some of the overcrowding in shelters.

Psst! - Erin the Cat Princess

In this hilarious post, Erin introduces us to NUTS (Neighbourhood Under Threat Surveillance), a group of felines fighting the threat of mass breakins in our homes by suspicious men with sacks and white beards. Luckily, Erin shares NUTS' advice to protect against the threat by these hooligans wearing red coats. Erin is one smart feline and she knows her stuff ... but if you meet her, be sure to bring lots of cream, Nip, and cheese and watch out for "dis-assembled" mice (and a Kraken) about her Palace.

That Guilty Feeling - Travels with Barley

Inevitably, when you share your life with a cat, there will be times you feel guilty. In my case, Bear regularly lets me know that I don't live up to his expectations. Oh, and there was that one time I closed him in the pantry because he was lazing in there and I didn't realize he was in there. By the time I found him, I was frantic because he wasn't in any of his usual spots, he hadn't met me at the front door when I came back from class, and he didn't come when I called his name. Finally, I heard a faint meow and opened the pantry door. Strangely enough, after I opened the door, Bear came out, walked around me a few times, then went back in the pantry to hang out. The story of the missing Soth reminds me of this pantry incident with Bear. As much as we love our babies ... it happens ... and you can bet we feel bad about it for longer than the cat remembers the incident.

About the Pet Blogger Showcase

Twice a month, On the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month, you have the chance to link up one of your blog posts to the linky party link-up. Then visit 3 other blogs that joined the party and leave a meaningful comment. Feel free to share with your followers on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, etc. Then each week the hosts will feature their favorite 3 posts from the previous Linky Party on the new party post.

 Pet Blogger Showcase Rules

1.    Share a pet specific post, past or present, from your blog in the linky below. Family friendly posts only. (We love reading about other topics and niches, but posts that are not pet related will be deleted this includes any posts that don’t mention pets even if they are on a pet blog or if the post could pertain to pets.)
2.    Spread the Love! Leave a quality comment(more than just a few words) on at least 3 other posts from the linky party. Tell them why you love their post, encourage them, share on social media.
3.    Check back for the next linky party to see if you are featured on one of the hosts’ blogs.

*Note: By adding your post to the linky party you are giving the hosts permission to use an image from your post if your post will be a featured post on their blog to help encourage people to click through to your post. The image may be used individually or as a collage.

ALSO ... please link to a specific post from your blog instead of to your blog's homepage. Since each co-host chooses three posts from the last Party to feature each week - you increase your chances of being chosen by giving us a specific post and not the more general homepage.

That’s it! No need to RSVP. No need to bring a covered dish. No need to add the linky to your post. No need to include a button. Just come join the party and PAWTY ON

  1. I wonder if everyone with cats has inadvertently locked them away in places, and experience that panic and then guilt? That was one of my favorite posts too, but I think I missed the other ones, will have to go back and check those out!

    1. The thing with Bear is that when he's on the wrong side of a door, he HOWLS. Shortly after adopting him, I spent the first couple days in the room he was isolated from my other cat in ... third day, I had to get stuff done so I closed the door. He HOWLED for 4 hours before I gave in and let him out. So I figure if I accidentally close him in somewhere that I'll hear about it right away. But for some reason, the pantry is where the cool cats hang out - without a peep ;)
